ThinkinCircles is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Strategic Advisor
Romilly Wakeling joined on January 1st, 2024 as Strategic Advisor and will work with James Whitelock and the team to support the growth of the business.
Romilly studied Marketing at Anglia Ruskin University before completing her Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2003 and becoming a Marketing Manager.
In 2004 she started Select’s first ever Sales and Marketing Desk, which began her recruitment career. After a successful spell, she went to work for Eteach where she helped set up and grow the company for over 4 years.
In this time, Romilly become involved in Marketing and events for BAR Honda and McLaren F1 and become a trail blazer for women’s motor racing where she competed in Formula Woman.
In 2009, after the financial crash, Romilly joined Protocol Education and progressed to the top of the company over an 8.5-year period, where she helped grow the company to over 200 consultants, amalgamate it with Teaching Personnel and helped sell the Education Personnel group for 330 million.
Romilly then progressed to a managing director where (in COVID) she helped win an APSCO award for ‘Recruitment Company of the Year’ for growth over COVID and the charity worked carried out to provide schools with over £75,000 worth of laptops, and food banks with over £10,000 worth of food donations.
Romilly has also completed her Certificate and Diploma recruitment qualifications through the REC. Romilly is currently studying additional qualifications in coaching and marketing which also supports her role as Councillor for the Chelmsford Garden Community Council.
Romilly is also a chair of the APSCO marketing committee representing the recruitment sector on a regional and national level. Her passion is to work with recruitment businesses to establish a growth strategy to accelerate placements, by working with businesses and identifying marketing opportunities to enable company goals, increase candidate attraction, placements, and ultimately the profitability of the company.
